Our February Woman of the Month is singer Ella Fitzgerald. I absolutely love her smooth, honeyed voice and every time I hear her my stress levels go down a notch. Breaking color and gender barriers in her time, Ella was able to perform at historically segregated clubs and paid equal to her male contemporaries. She also notably collaborated with contemporary musicians and singers such as Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.
When thinking of the scent for her, I imagined having a whiskey cocktail in a smoky jazz club. Notes of smoke, cocktail bitters and pomegranate mingle in harmony.
Stay tuned for next month's Edit scent--this time we're taking a trip to Versaille.
