When developing our Holiday Collection, I wanted to improve and build upon our previous winter scents. Winter Woods, a delicious blend of fluffy vanilla sugar and pine and fir, is our best-selling holiday scent so obviously it would make its annual appearance but finding inspiration for two more scents proved a bit more difficult.
I love a smoky scent but many prove to be *too* smoky and I can only burn them for an hour before I get overwhelmed. A certain big-box store's smoky scents are SO strong that I can't believe I would burn them non-stop each year. Once I began formulating scent recipes I've realized that too much of one scent is not better--learning to layer scent notes is the true magic of fragrance.
The Kindling scented soy wax candle is a wonderful, rich scent with smoky embers as the main note, softened with hints of burnt caramel toffee, leather and warm spices. Inspired by sitting next to a wood-burning stove, reading books on a leather couch-I adore this scent for the winter season. It brings warmth and coziness indoors and even if you don't have a fireplace (I wish!), this will fill your space with woodsy, smoky warmth with a hint of caramel.
