We have a family tradition during the holidays that my mom started in the 90s: every year she makes dozens of batches of biscotti. She has kept magazines from decades ago and each year we look forward to receiving her homemade cookies. I have memories of her teaching me and my sisters how to make them *just right*. Chopping nuts and dried fruits, braiding the dough for a two-tone effect. Learning to slice them and bake them twice.
Why biscotti? Who knows! She has always made them every year in a couple tried-and-true flavors and packages them in cellophane bags and each person in our house gets a bag full of crunchy biscotti. Its our only family tradition during the Christmas season and as a result my scent memories attached to her baking is strong.
When thinking of a new gourmand holiday scent I just knew that this would be a perfect addition to the collection. Mom's Biscotti is an ode to the nutty, buttery notes of pistachio and almond and the hints of sweetness of dried fruits. As always, the scent is never too sweet and feels like a real representation of that warm, baked goods smell that oozes coziness.
